中華女排剛在亞洲盃拿下隊史最佳第五名，中華男排也在21日啟程前往泰國佛統，備戰亞洲盃男排賽，首戰將於22日17點30分對決地主泰國。
亞洲盃男排賽從2008年舉辦首屆至今，中華隊參賽2次，最佳成績為第四名；本屆由執行教練陳克舟領軍，陣容為陳建禎、劉鴻敏、劉鴻杰、黃建逢、許美中、江天祐、張良皓、吳宗軒、王明浚、黃培閎、戴儒謙以及董力億。
預賽中華隊與泰國、中國、哈薩克分在A組，B組則為日本、伊朗、澳洲、南韓；中華隊首戰將於22日出戰泰國，23日20點對決哈薩克，24日20點則強碰中國。
